The Painting of Your Life
by Forshia Ross
I have had to learn in my life that every cloud has a silver lining, every glass is half full, not just half empty, and every negative experience has a hidden golden nugget. I emphasize, "I have had to learn this."
You see, as long as we are on this earth, life will hold for us ups and downs and good times and bad times. After a while, if we don’t see life as a whole picture, we can loose our perspective and concentrate only on the negative.
I have always marveled at the famous painting of The Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci. Have you ever considered that there would be no depth to this painting without the many shades of darkness in it.
And, oh! There’s that famous mysterious smile of hers. I think that she has discovered the secret of life and she knows it full well. And it is this, God has woven all the dark experiences of her life into a picture of beauty.
The Bible says in Proverbs 15:15 that, "All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast."
What does this mean? Well, I believe it means that as long as we focus on the negative, we will be unhappy. You see, we can actually expect bad things to happen to us. But if our focus is on the whole picture of our lives, we can smile.
Won’t you smile today about your circumstances. If you look hard enough, you will see the light in the painting of your life!
