A NOTE FROM DONNA
++++++++++++++++
Summer is a time when pet owners really think about HEARTWORMS. We love
animals and there are so many pet owners that don’t know there’s a natural
alternative to heartworms. If you’re on a pet forum, please share with
other pet lovers that there’s a simpler solution for their furry loved one.
The link below has an article about it and has a link to somebody’s website
that has used the natural way. Their dog tested totally clear of heartworms
after the herbal program. Help to get the word out for the animals.

SAGE – HERB OF THE YEAR 2001
A wide range of foods benefit from a hint of sage flavor, including stewed
tomatoes, snap beans, lima beans, eggplant and melted butter used to baste
fish. It can be used in breads and sweets, and is outstanding with apples.
Sage flowers are irresistible to bees. A nice addition to any herb garden.
Sage can be steeped for a soothing tea, which aids digestion. Italians fry
whole young sage leaves and eat them in gnocchi. In Provence, sage leaves
are boiled with chestnuts and also used to flavor watermelon preserves.

NATURAL AIR FRESHENER
Sent to me by Linda Calhoun
Spray a bit of perfume (essential oil) on the light bulb in any room to
create a lovely light scent in each room when the light is turned on. If
you use essential oils, put a few drops on each bulb. It’s a great way to
set a mood for that room for a special evening or entertaining.

HOMEMADE BERRY MOUTHWASH
Raspberries make excellent dentifrices – an almost perfect means of
preventing tartar from settling on the teeth. A good berry mouthwash can be
made by adding 1/4 c. honey to a cup of berry juice and bring to a boil for
only a few seconds. Cool, then add 2 cups distilled water, 3 drops of thyme
oil, and 4 drops of peppermint oil. Gargle and rinse teeth. This is known
to kill all kinds of infection and leaves a nice, sweet taste and odor.

ANOTHER PESTICIDE BANNED, FINALLY ……..
Diazinon, an insecticide widely used to control ants, roaches and lawn grubs
has been banned. It belongs to a class of compounds known as
organophosphates, which induce headaches, nausea, weakness, and drowsiness
after overexposure, which shouldn’t be surprising since it is derived from
nerve-gas research carried out during WWII. Since 1948 it became the #1
lawn insecticide for homeowners, although it was banned 15 years ago for use
on golf courses and sod farms due to the high risk to feeding birds.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that agencies, who are
supposed to have our health interests in mind, seem to be more concerned
about the big business that produces these chemicals. If you’re really into
chemicals, don’t get too upset! They’re giving these chemical companies
time to gradually phase this dangerous substance out. Sales will be allowed
until December 2002 for indoor use, and until August 2003 for outdoor
gardeners. Surely this is for the convenience of the chemical companies to
have time to get rid of what has already been produced.
If these substances are so dangerous as to finally bring a much needed ban,
why should the agencies who were created to protect and serve us, give the
manufacturing companies more time? Haven’t they had enough time to “make a
killing?”

WEIGHT LOSS
“The weight-loss is going very well. My appetite is curbed. I don’t feel
like snacking as much as I used to. And I FEEL LIGHTER. I know I’ve lost
weight. My size 18 jeans are swimming on me and my skirts fit comfortably.
My goal is to get back down to a size 12 (like I was when I got married). I
know I’m well on my way. I’ve been using the MetaboMax for breakfast and
lunch and the SF for dinner. Then I take two more SF tablets before going
to bed. I figure it might burn fat while I sleep. Anyway, it’s working
really well. I’m very excited. I’ve been overweight for five years now. I
think that the herbs I’m taking is straightening out my system and also
improving my thyroid function, which may also explain for the weight loss.
All I know for sure is that Nature’s Sunshine is the best thing that has
ever happened to me with regards to my health! Thank you so much!” J.N.

TEA TREE OIL DOES IT ALL
“We took our kids camping this past weekend and of course I had my handy
little bottle of Tea Tree Oil (I love this stuff). We were camping and when
we were taking our tent down, we found we had planted one of our spikes
right into a sappy pine root. My husband had sap all over his hand. Well,
anyone whoever gets that pine sap on themselves knows it’s very hard to get
off. I threw the bottle of Tea Tree Oil to my husband and said, “Try this it
works on everything else!” Guess what? He rubbed it into his hands, rinsed
with water, and it was gone! So, my advice is, “Don’t leave home without
it!” Pam in Atlanta

BALANCE
Balancing our work and personal lives is perhaps one of the most challenging
tasks we face. In the last 50 years, Americans have added a full month to
annual work hours. In 1997, we surpassed Japan as the country with the
highest annual work hours of all industrialized nations.
Many people are choosing not to be part of those statistics. In fact,
thousands of individuals in this country have restructured their lives to
permit a part-time work schedule, 20 to 30 hours a week. This schedule frees
up time and energy for other high priorities in their lives, like spending
time with family and friends, self health care (enough sleep, exercise and
nutritious food), providing services to others, developing their
spirituality, and spending time in nature.
Give it some thought. Here’s a couple of great sites for ideas:

FOODS THAT HEAL
Detoxifying foods protect against the effects of environmental pollution,
free-radical induced cell damage and cancer through dietary antioxidants.
Foods that are richest in these antioxidants are red, yellow and green
vegetables, uncooked nuts and seeds (like almonds and sunflower seeds), and
fish. Infection-fighting foods and immune-stimulating choices can make a
difference in your health.

and asked, “Are you hiring any help?”
“No,” he said. “We already have all the staff we need.”
