Pet Cautions – Safety For Your Pets

Using herbs and essential oils, and other natural therapies need to be respected and used with care as you would all medication. Herbs have medicinal properties, so please treat them with respect. Consider finding a holistic vet in your area.

Cats

Aspirin and aspirin derivatives (i.e. white willow bark and white oak bark, salicylic acid), acetaminophen products (i.e. Tylenol), ibuprofen products (i.e. Motrin), can be fatal to cats. Do not use them.

Aromatherapy and use of essential oils may be fatal

Do not give pets caffeine-containing herbs or food. Caffeine is hard on the nervous system, kidneys and the heart. It does not belong in your pets.

Dogs

Don’t feed chocolate or onions to dogs – both are toxic.
